Panel cut list

How it works

  • Panels run eave to ridge, one coverage width at a time. On hips each panel is cut from the longest point it covers, so the cut list is what you order.
  • Trim is figured in 10 ft 6 in. sticks with 6 in. laps (10 ft net). Closures come one per panel at the eave, and both sides of every ridge and hip.
  • Exposed-fastener screws default to 80 per square; standing seam uses clips at your spacing on every seam.
  • Add your supplier's unit prices to any line for a cost estimate; tax and markup are optional.

How to measure

  • Measure each plane's eave length and eave-to-ridge distance. For hip ends enter a ridge length of 0; for hip sides enter the (shorter) ridge.
  • Add the panel overhang past the eave (usually 1–2 in.). Check the panel maker's minimum slope before ordering.

Estimates only. Coverage, sizes and waste vary by product and job — verify with the manufacturer's specs and your local building code before ordering.
